Workers at Sega of America (a division of Sega Sammy Holdings Inc.) have become the first game workers in North America to successfully ratify a union contract. It covers 150 workers in Southern California and includes minimum yearly page increases until 2026 and improved benefits. The contract also includes a requirment of notice for layoffs and minimum severance pay, while layoffs increase across the sector.
